RoboKits has approached the creation of robots in 3 separate ways that are available for you. We understand and thus prioritize research in whatever field of robotics. These finds from the research help innovate the new projects. These research papers are available for the general public as well as our projects, files and code.

Research Papers Showcase

A 3D-Printable Solution for people in Need of  prosthetics

April - May 2023

A research paper covering the problems that thousands of amputees experience. The paper covers the possible solution of 3d-printing prosthetics to create an affordable option. The paper also covers a differential model of a dc motor and designs a completely 3d-printed prosthetic arm and hand.

A Deep Dive Into the Design and Creation of Cycloidal Drives

June-July 2024

A comprehensive explanation and description of every component of a cycloidal drive. The paper then proceeds to explain how to design a custom cycloidal actuator. The paper finishes by providing Cad files to enable anyone to create their very own drive.

The Mechanical Failure of 3d-printed PLA

November 2023

This paper discuses the mechanical failures and weaknesses of 3d-printed parts. The paper then discusses some solutions regarding the printing of PLA to make it stronger and improve its characteristics.

Environmental Impacts of Bioplastics Compared to Traditional Petroleum-Based Plastics

May - June 2024

A research paper that does a Life cycle analysis on the production and disposal of both bio plastics and petroleum based plastics.  The paper dives into the production of both the plastics, discussing their pros and cons. The plastics entire life cycle is analyzed, with their impact being the major point of focus.

Initial sketches for version 3 of the 6-Axis robot arm

May 2024-July 2024

After learning from the flaws in versions 1 and 2 of the robot arm a cycloidal reduction system has been developed for the arm. These cycloid drives should enable higher reduction and smoother motion. In total the new design has 3 cycloidal drives.

A Deep Dive Into the Design and Creation of Cycloidal Drives

June-July 2024

This section has all of the Cad files needed to design the cycloidal drive. Code is also provided to enable the creation of a sucessful parametric equation for the Cad software.
